The LC-10 Autocase casemaker is designed to automatically produce hard covers with library corners for the short run and on-demand production of case bound books. The LC-10 offers all of the advantages from which GP2 has built its reputation: reliability, simplicity of operation and maintenance, and high quality, both in the machine and the covers it produces.
The fully automatic LC-10 features zero time for most make-readies and a production rate of up to 10 covers per minute with one unskilled operator utilizing our advanced, custom designed hardware and software. An industrial PC driven by our hybrid program coordinates twenty-four (24) axes of servo drives to automatically produce covers. The process includes automatic feeding of cover sheets, board, and spine from stacks, application of adhesive to cover sheet, automatic registration of board and spine to cover sheet, folding four corners, folding four sides, and pressing of finished cover. All motions and functions of the LC-10 are fully computerized to provide extremely accurate and flexible processing of covers. A very “user-friendly” operator interface touch screen is employed for data storage, size changes, and diagnostics.
Optional equipment will allow maximum versatility to the LC-10 customer. A flexible backliner unit to feed, slit to width, cut to length, and register craft paper spine will allow for either rounded or flat back covers. Viscosity control will be available to enhance the fully automatic protein (hot) glue system and use a computerized monitoring/regulation design for maximum control. A cold glue system for PVA type adhesives will be available. A conveyor to return finished covers to the operator in either shingled (conveyor only) or stacked (with counter/stacker) will complete the process.
The Operator Interface Touchscreen is representative of the advanced technology built into the Autocase and not found on other entry or mid level bindery equipment.
The Touchscreen further exemplifies our commitment to “user” friendly, simple to operate casemakers.
As with all the fully automatic functions of the LC-10, the board feeder adjusts for size changes automatically to the precise specifications set by our program. This design provides very accurate registration of board and spine to cover sheet and eliminates errors caused by operator settings or material feeding.
The library corner section is a truly unique design for extremely accurate turning of corners. Utilizing two sets of dies, covers are accurately positioned and folded, providing tight and uniform corners resulting in very high quality covers.
